The Cardinal's Annual Appeal

MISSION & LEADERSHIP

“In our efforts to educate our youth in the faith,
encourage vocations to the priesthood, and lend
a helping hand to the hungry, the homeless, the
elderly and the infirm, we give witness to our faith”

                                                                             ⦁ Cardinal Egan

The Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal exists to make Christ present in the world around us.  Through the pastoral work in the 288 parishes of the Archdiocese of New York, the competitive education and spiritual formation in our 128 parish-based, Catholic schools, the wide-ranging ministries serving the community, and the charitable works that have become the cornerstone of the Appeal, our donors are helping us bring hope and care to those who are most in need every day.

The work of the Appeal, as we have discovered over the course of 40 years of service, adapts to the evolving needs of communities across the ten counties that comprise the Archdiocese of New York.  The needs of each region vary according to geography and population; and, in that sense, we depend on those who are aware of the needs in their neighboring communities to give generously.  The work of the Appeal is accomplished in community; and, together, we ensure that those parishes serving the most vulnerable among us, have the assistance, the services, and resources they need.

The leadership Committee is instrumental in this task.  The committee consists of donors and volunteers who collaborate closely with the Executive Director of Development and the Director of the Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal to help the Archdiocese achieve its mission of providing financial and ministerial support to the parishes of the archdiocese and the people of New York.  Strategic planning, community outreach, and execution are fundamental aspects of their role in the Appeal.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining the Leadership Committee, please send an email to Juliette Picciano, Director of the Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal at juliette.picciano@archny.org.

This pandemic has left us with great pain and sorrow.
Many of us were not able to kiss away our loved ones tears.
Tell them how much we loved them or even say goodbye.

On May 7th, the eve of Mother's Day, we will pray for our dearly departed and bid them a loving farewell.

Please join us in prayer .
