At St. Columba we believe that music and liturgy are inseparable
and our music draws on the rich diversity of the Church’s chant and motet, hymn
and anthem, and spiritual and gospel.
As music ministers our primary role is to inspire the prayer of
the assembly - particularly sung prayer.
Along with Cantor Gerard Powers, our Parish Choir leads the music
at the 12:00 PM Sunday Mass as well as at all the important Feasts of the Church
and we would love to have you consider joining us! Being a choir member is a
marvelous way to serve and is a wonderful calling. Previous singing experience,
while obviously helpful, isn't necessary and section leaders guide each section
in the singing. Rehearsals are held after the Sunday mass from 1:15-2:30.
Please contact David Strickland if you would like more information about becoming a member of
St. Columba's music ministry.
